I want to preface this review by sharing the fact that we are long time lovers of Patty’s Cakes and enjoy them for birthdays, special occasions, and just for the heck of it. Patty even made our wedding cake. Her standard recipes are truly amazing as are all of her frostings, custards and mousses.
Like many folks out there, for the past few years, my wife has had to sit out the experience due to the way her body now processes gluten. We figured we would give Patty’s gluten free a try. Although these cakes are decent, they don’t come close to stacking up agains her standard recipes. Yes, I know that GF is a completely different type of cake and we would love it if the texture and flavor were closer to what patty does best.
As a side note, her staff and customer service are amazing. They even gave us a fresh batch to see if that made a fresh batch. We give them 5 stars for that. We also hope that Patty continues to develop her GF recipes so we can keep coming back :)
Gluten-Free: We have the best intentions in making gluten-free items. However, we are not a gluten-free environment, so cross-contamination with ingredients containing gluten is a possibility.
Allergy Info: Our items are made on equipment used in producing items containing tree nuts, peanuts, soy, eggs, and milk.
